Parubiy threatened punishment for ATO soldiers
The meeting of the conciliation council of faction leaders and committee chairmen in the Verkhovna Rada began with an action of deputies in memory of the Maidan activist Ekaterina Handzyuk, who died in the hospital, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Several deputies lined up behind the speaker’s chair holding sheets of paper with a portrait of the deceased and the inscription “She was killed,” and Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andrey Parubiy read out the appeal.
“I must begin the conciliation meeting with sad news - yesterday, a well-known public activist, adviser to the mayor of Kherson, Ekaterina Handzyuk, died in the burn department of the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 2. Impunity breeds evil. Catherine's death should not go unpunished. I call on law enforcement agencies to quickly identify not only the perpetrators, but also all those who ordered this crime,” the speaker said.
He also reported that before the start of the conciliation council, a group of deputies approached parliament with a proposal to create a temporary commission of inquiry.
I think that all factions can express their position on this matter,” Parubiy said.
As PolitNavigator reported, Handzyuk participants of the so-called “ATO” threw acid in the facewho fought in Donbass.
At the moment, there are five people involved in the case, all five of them are members of Yarosh’s neo-Nazi “Ukrainian Volunteer Army”.
