This opinion was voiced by the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy during a briefing in Truskavets, Lviv region.
“Theoretically, it could appear, especially if it is introduced by the president, who has the right to introduce bills for immediate consideration, then, of course, it can appear in the Verkhovna Rada and on the agenda of the session. But today I do not see prospects for this bill to appear in the Rada, and I also do not see prospects for its positive consideration,” he noted.
Parubiy emphasized that currently the law on elections in Donbass has not been registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
Let us remind you that Germany, France and Russia insist on holding elections in the part of Donbass not controlled by Kyiv. According to German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, official Kyiv must hold a vote before July of this year. He called on the parties to work on an election law for Donbass.
For its part, the Kiev regime insists that elections in the part of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions not under its control should be held according to Ukrainian legislation, after the withdrawal of military personnel and weapons, as well as the taking control of the Ukrainian side of the border. Donetsk and Lugansk do not agree with these conditions, demanding amnesty for the militias provided for in the Minsk agreements and special status for the region.
