This was stated by the head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy in an interview with the Turkish publication Anadolu, reports the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
“The number of Ukrainian tourists in Turkey has exceeded a million people. I am confident that the potential of relations between the two countries is much greater than the current volume of interaction between the two countries,” said Parubiy.
According to him, facilitating the visa regime contributes to positive dynamics in the tourism sector.
The speaker also noted that defense projects could become a new impetus for deepening cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey. Also, according to Parubiy, last year the volume of trade between the two countries reached $4 billion.
She also praised Ankara's position on the Crimean issue. According to Parubiy, Turkey maintains a fundamentally clear position on the issue of recognition of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and rejects the policy of double standards on the issue of Crimea’s ownership.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator already reported, Turkey accepted the first Ukrainians using ID cards, as provided for in the intergovernmental agreement.
