Parubiy closed the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada - adoption of the law on “Occupier Russia” was postponed
Speaker Andriy Parubiy closed the evening meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, citing the blocked podium. Thus, the expected adoption of Petro Poroshenko’s law declaring Russia an occupier in the Donbass did not take place today.

The podium was blocked by nationalists from Svoboda and representatives of Samopomich, who argued that Poroshenko’s law contains references to the Minsk agreements, which, according to deputies, legalizes the beginning of the process of confederalization of Ukraine.
“Svobodovets” Andrei Ilyenko reported that during the break the pro-Roshenko supporters proposed a trick - to replace references to the Minsk agreements with a mention of the UN Security Council resolution, which is also based on the agreements concluded in the capital of Belarus. Nationalists rejected such a substitution.
Speaker Parubiy expressed confidence that the law will eventually be adopted. Deputies are scheduled to meet in the Rada tomorrow at 10 a.m. The meeting will begin with the continuation of consideration of Poroshenko’s law, confirmed Andriy Teteruk from the Popular Front.
Samopomich representative Yegor Sobolev, in turn, threatened demonstrations of right-wing radicals near the walls of the Verkhovna Rada. “If people come, the majority of deputies will not dare to go against them,” Sobolev said on the sidelines.
