Parubiy was not allowed to vote on the certificate
The head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Andrei Parubiy, came to vote at the polling station at the House of Officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kyiv, but it soon became clear that the chairman of the parliament had forgotten his passport, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At 11:00 Parubiy appeared at the polling station, but soon the journalists present noticed that the speaker never entered the secret voting booth, but remained waiting in the hall.
Later, as Ukrainian publications report, they managed to ask him the question directly.
“Yes, I forgot my passport,” Parubiy confirmed.
However, after a short wait, the head of parliament apparently received a passport, as he proceeded to the voting booth and soon placed his ballot in the ballot box.
“I voted for a successful and prosperous Ukraine, for the Ukrainian state, and for Ukraine to continue moving towards NATO and the EU. I voted for the future of Ukraine, for the future of our children. I am convinced that we will not allow the key directions that we have initiated over the past five years to change,” Parubiy said after the vote.
The Ukrainian speaker’s forgetfulness immediately caused ridicule on the Internet.
“Parubiy forgot to bring his passport to the station. And what, according to the certificate, he couldn’t be allowed to vote?” – wrote in his Telegram- channel of ex-deputy head of the presidential administration of Ukraine Andrey Portnov.
