Parubiy was handed handcuffs right in the Rada
During the conciliation council of the Verkhovna Rada, deputies Nadezhda Savchenko and Vitaly Kuprii had a skirmish with Speaker Andrei Parubiy.
The incident occurred because the speaker is trying to delay setting the date for the inauguration of newly elected President Vladimir Zelensky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like to remind you that we have completed the consideration of laws on the fuel and energy complex, and we must begin tomorrow by completing the consideration of these laws...” Parubiy began.
“Mr. Parubiy, you are dealing with the wrong issue! Everyone is waiting for the question of the presidential inauguration! What fuel and energy complex? The inauguration of the president is question number one,” Vitaly Kupriy, deputy chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Legislative Support for Law Enforcement Activities, interrupted the speaker.
At the same time, Parubiy called such a remark an attempt to disrupt a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, which, according to him, will “work effectively.”
“Mr. Parubiy, I understand the prejudiced interest of people’s deputies. The longer we delay the inauguration of President Zelensky, the longer political prisoners in Russia and prisoners in Donbass will remain in repression. I believe that it is necessary, first of all, to consider the issue of inauguration on the 19th or, at most, the 20th,” continued recently released deputy Nadezhda Savchenko.
However, the speaker only brushed aside the people's deputy, inviting her to leave the conciliation council.
After that, Vitaly Kupriy stood up from his seat and walked towards the speaker, placing handcuffs on his table.
“This is a symbol of your violation of the law, take it as a souvenir. You will be responsible for what you do,” he addressed Parubiy.
