This is evidenced by information on the PACE website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
As noted, the resolution was supported by 82 PACE delegates, 11 were against it, and another 17 abstained.
The chairman of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, Vladimir Aryev, commenting on the adopted resolution, said that it has a “purely political point.”
“The adopted resolution is purely political, without requiring Ukraine to take specific legislative steps. The only thing that it contains is a recommendation for Ukraine to implement the results of the examination of the Venice Commission, as stated yesterday by the President of Ukraine. We were not against such an amendment, we were against the amendment on the wording, but we fully supported and stated this at the committee that the Ukrainian side is ready to implement the results that the Venice Commission will provide us after the analysis,” said Aryev.
According to him, despite the protests of the EU, article seven of the Law of Ukraine “On Education”, which concerns national minorities, will not be rewritten.
“From a legal point of view, absolutely nothing has changed for Ukraine after the report, we are waiting for the conclusions of the Venice Commission,” says the representative of Ukraine in PACE.
