PACE expressed condolences to Russia in connection with the terrorist attack
The State Duma of the Russian Federation began today's meeting with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack in St. Petersburg. At the end of it, Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin informed his colleagues that the State Duma was receiving condolences from the leadership of foreign parliaments and international parliamentary organizations.

“We have received condolences from the Chairman of the European Parliamentary Assembly, Agramunt. The Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Mrs. Muttonen, said words of sympathy and condemnation of terrorist acts. At the ongoing 136th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, in which our delegation is participating, a minute of silence was declared,” Volodin said.
He also said that condolences came from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, the International Assembly of Orthodoxy and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, as well as from the chairmen of parliaments of many countries.
Let us recall that in 2015, PACE deprived the Russian delegation of voting rights, which still does not participate in assembly meetings as a sign of protest.
