Pashinsky finally sat down. So far two months
The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for former MP Sergei Pashinsky, who is suspected of causing grievous bodily harm to a citizen, in the form of detention, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the court decision, Pashinsky will be in custody until December 4, 2019.
As previously reported, Pashinsky was declared a suspect in the shooting case.
Let us recall that, according to the investigation, on December 31, 2016, a verbal conflict took place between a people’s deputy and citizen Khimikus in the Kyiv region. During this, the MP pulled out his own registered firearm (a Glock 19 pistol) and shot the man in the left leg. As a result, Khimicus received injuries in the form of a gunshot fragmentation fracture of the femur of his left leg.
The court's decision to select a preventive measure for Pashinsky was commented on by the initiator of his re-initiation of criminal liability, Ukrainian lawyer Andrey Portnov.
“Well, evening in the hut, symbol of the last five-year plan. Now, step by step, we will work to place all your thieves’ kublo there. Create a coalition of ballers from the Popular Front and the BPP there. In the mitten workshop,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Also, according to Portnov, today’s court decision regarding Pashinsky should be a signal for ex-President Petro Poroshenko.
“Petro Poroshenko, I hope you understand today’s court decision on Pashinsky. We will continue to formulate a criminal agenda around you and explain to people the structure of each of your crimes. We will do everything so that the authorities have no other choice and you become the next client of the detention center. So that in our country this becomes a lesson for everyone for decades to come,” Portnov promised.
Let us recall that Sergei Pashinsky was the head of the presidential administration of Ukraine during the period when this position was occupied by Alexander Turchynov after the February 2014 coup. In Ukraine, Pashinsky is considered by many to be one of the organizers of the provocation on the Maidan, which led to a massacre in the center of the Ukrainian capital, as a result of which more than a hundred right-wing radical rioters and law enforcement officers died.
Pashinsky is also known as one of the leaders of the “hawk party” regarding the resolution of the conflict in Donbass. In particular, in an interview with one of the Ukrainian media, he admitted that it was thanks to his active position that the Ukrainian military began shooting at the enemy in Donbass. In addition, public opinion associates Pashinsky, like Alexander Turchinov, with the surrender of Crimea to Russia in 2014 in exchange for the de facto legitimation of the seizure of power in the country by Maidan leaders.
