The new Kiev government took into custody ex-member of the Rada Sergei Pashinsky in order to obtain from him, as a key figure in corruption schemes, useful information about the affairs of his predecessors.

Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies “New Ukraine” Andrey Ermolaev said this on the YouTube channel “Politeka”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.

“I think that in the old regime, in the war party, there are a number of figures who have information, connections, facts. They themselves are involved in the defense industry, and in unofficial special operations, and subversive actions.

Pashinsky is one of the information carriers. Let's remember his rifle. This man knows a lot: about the defense complex, about the destruction of property on Bankova, how it was all worked out. I think that he, as the head of the Administration under Mr. Turchinov, knows a lot about the ins and outs related to how Crimea was lost. I think that he has information about who kept the property in Crimea and how,” he believes.

At the same time, Ermolaev noted that the authorities need to deal with their predecessors, who used their official position to pursue their own interests and made the country an arena of military operations.

“People like Pashinsky will be of interest to the new regime, which needs convincing evidence that the peace policy and current negotiations are a historical reaction to the ins and outs of the organization of war, an interstate political agreement. The war was a negotiated game, everyone had their own benefit,” the expert concluded.

Let us note that so far the State Bureau of Investigation has not even prepared a suspicion against the ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

“At the moment, there is no project of suspicion against the former president in the SBI,” said SBI Director Roman Truba.
