Pashinyan paradoxically remains in power - expert opinion
It is unlikely that the protests that swept Armenia after the defeat in the war over Nagorno-Karabakh will lead to the resignation of the country's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The director of the Institute of Peacekeeping Initiatives, Denis Denisov, stated this in a commentary to Izvestia, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, despite the protests in Yerevan, the transfer of the Aghdam, Kelbajar and Lachin regions to the control of Azerbaijan should take place without clashes.
“Radical elements in these areas will try to stage provocations, but international guarantors of peace will not allow these actions to develop into large-scale clashes,” the expert believes.
In his opinion, even early elections will not change the current situation in parliament.
“No matter how many managerial mistakes Pashinyan makes, the paradox is that he will remain. The maximum that the opposition is capable of is to achieve early parliamentary elections. However, due to the split in the ranks of the opposition, the elections will also not change the situation; Pashinyan will remain,” Denisov concluded.
