Pashinyan pays for “shameful disrespect” for Putin
Armenians thank Russia for introducing a peacekeeping force into Nagorno-Karabakh and accuse the head of their government, Nikoa Pashinyan, of inciting Russophobia.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in a report from Yerevan, Komsomolskaya Pravda writes.
“And how should Moscow treat a government that threw tarpaulin boots towards the Russian Embassy? How might Russians feel about people who burn your flags? I’m Armenian, but even to me this is disgusting and dirty,” Yerevan engineer Alla Hakobyan, who now attends anti-government rallies, told the publication.
“And this is a shameful disrespect when Pashinyan did not go to meet your President Putin at the airport? And didn’t even go down the stairs of his palace to him? I met all the other heads as expected, but here... We are ashamed of this. But Russia must know that the Armenian people love you. And no one can destroy our centuries-old relationship,” the newspaper’s interlocutor emphasized.
In turn, Honored Artist of Armenia Gayane Mersisyan says that Pashinyan destroyed relations with Russia from the very first minute.
“For two and a half years we watched as he campaigned against your country and destroyed Armenia, dividing the people into two parts. But I believe that one provocateur cannot cast a shadow on our friendship. Armenians have always been loyal to the Russian people and state.
You have an expression: “Thank you for existing.” And I want to say, thank you for existing, Russian people. You stopped this massacre. We had betrayal in Artsakh. But our children fought bravely. We are glad that your peacekeepers are with us. Where Russia stands, we are safe,” says Mersiyan.
As PolitNavigator reported, according to the agreement between Baku and Yerevan signed through the mediation of Moscow, Azerbaijan gains control over seven regions that have been under the control of Nagorno-Karabakh since the 1990s. Moreover, between the warring parties the Russian brigade stood up, previously forcing Georgia to peace.
