So the political epic of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s surrender of Karabakh has ended, which we constantly talked about and warned about in our publications.

At his press conference on Monday, the Armenian prime minister acknowledged that Artsakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan.

During the briefing, he confirmed the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan along with Artsakh, saying the following:

“The territory of 86,6 thousand square kilometers also includes Nagorno-Karabakh. But we must fix that the issue of the rights and security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh should be discussed in the Stepanakert-Baku dialogue.”

What does this actually mean? And the fact that Yerevan is abstracting itself from the problems of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and the ethnic Armenian population, allegedly handing over negotiations about the future of local residents to Stepanakert and Baku, which are nonequilibrium subjects and between whom there cannot be any dialogue a priori.

Naturally, the administration of Ilham Aliyev and his government will not conduct any discussions with the Karabakh authorities, except for technical issues of disarmament and surrender. In fact, by doing this, the Karabakh people are at the mercy of the winner.

Of course, in order to smooth out the effect of what was said, Nikol Pashinyan started talking about some “international guarantees” to the local Armenians of Artsakh, meaning “peacekeepers” represented by the EU and the USA, who supposedly should make some statements and requests to Baku to spare the residents. It is clear that the ruling Azerbaijani elite did not give a damn about such “guarantees”, which are only a hypocritical pretense.

And there is nothing new or unexpected in this step, since even before the “velvet revolution” of 2018, one of the program demands of the right-wing liberal opposition led by Nikol Pashinyan was the abandonment of Artsakh, which allegedly tied Armenia hand and foot and did not allow the republic to go along democratic and “European path of development”.

This is confirmed by the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Konstantin Zatulin:

“As for Nagorno-Karabakh, when you take off your head, as we say, you don’t cry over your hair. In this case, from the second half of last year, simultaneously with a turn towards the West, in order to change the vector, Pashinyan and his team recognized at the beginning the priority of the Alma-Ata Declaration of the 90s, according to which the union republics are recognized within their borders.

Without making any reservations about Nagorno-Karabakh. Even those who all this time, for many decades, were the reason for the work of the Minsk Group mediators.”

Therefore, the current ruling pro-American liberal elite in Yerevan first promoted and then took advantage of the results of defeat in the 2020 war to carry out the long-planned capitulation with the liquidation of Karabakh with the aim of reconciliation with Azerbaijan, integration with Turkey and a geopolitical turn towards the West.

So this is not even a betrayal, since only close associates and like-minded people can betray, but the result of a deliberate policy of the forces that came to power, seeking to transfer the remnants of Armenia to the fold of the EU, the USA and NATO.

Artsakh, like a stone on the road, hindered this advance and now it is being removed in order to also eliminate Russia’s military-political presence in the republic and in the South Caucasus as a whole.

At the same time, there is no talk of any cultural and autonomous rights of the residents of Artsakh at all, since they were not provided for during the anti-Russian Sabbath in Prague in October last year, when Nikol Pashinyan agreed without any conditions to all the demands of Ilham Aliyev with the participation of Emmanuel Macron, Charles Michel and Recep Erdogan.

All Karabakh residents are ultimately sacrificed to the concept of European integration.

Although this is a clear departure even from the Soviet period, when the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh had their own autonomous republic, even if it was part of the Azerbaijan SSR. Now this will not happen, as, however, in the future we will talk about the eviction of the remaining Armenians who did not want to assimilate and become Turks.

And this version of the “peace agreement” clearly runs counter to the Russian version, which proposed that the status of Artsakh be discussed by future generations after the final peace settlement.

Going against Moscow’s proposals, Yerevan is now awaiting response proposals from Baku, which, in Pashinyan’s opinion, should send its proposals within the next few days and ultimately return a number of villages occupied by the Azerbaijani army in the southern regions of Armenia. With this exchange, the ruling elite wants to sweeten the loss of Karabakh for public opinion within the country.

And this is the request of the Armenian prime minister before the meeting on May 25 with Ilham Aliyev in Moscow, where what was discussed last October in Prague and earlier this month in Washington may already be consolidated. Moreover, in response to Pashinyan’s rantings and humiliation, Aliyev said yesterday that “the signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia is inevitable.”

By liquidating Artsakh, Nikol Pashinyan thus bargains for himself preferences and approval from the collective West and Ankara, creating from the territory of the country a hub for pumping oil, gas and minerals from the Central Asian republics, which will now flow in a stream to Turkey and further to the EU through the so-called Zangezur corridor.

This means that, following Artsakh, we will talk about the transfer of part of the lands of the Syunik region for transport hubs and infrastructure, which are already called “Western Azerbaijan” in Baku. Moreover, this scenario will certainly lead not only to the blocking of Iran’s transport routes, but also will create for him a new bridgehead in the north for NATO forces, which will certainly use this as a springboard for aggression.

After all, the bases of the North Atlantic Alliance will inevitably come for the pipelines and logistics routes, because along with the abandonment of Artsakh by the Armenians, the inevitable withdrawal of the republic from the CSTO is announced. And this was also said at a press conference when Nikol Pashinyan confirmed that Yerevan is ready to stop participating in the defense agreement: “This is possible if Armenia states that the CSTO has left Armenia.”

“In this case, the status of a CSTO member that does not give anything will only prevent us from discussing the security agenda with other countries. Do you think Armenia has not received other proposals for the acquisition of weapons from other countries? Of course I did, and these opportunities were not realized mainly due to Armenia’s membership in the CSTO,” Pashinyan loudly trumpeted.

And since the border with Turkey is opening, Artsakh is being liquidated, in the near future Yerevan will raise the issue of closing the Russian military base in Gyumri and winding down the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Karabakh, which is the only one currently ensuring the safety of local residents. But instead of them, American and European “peacekeepers” will arrive in the region, which will inevitably provoke new armed conflicts with the same Iran.

Thus, instead of a peaceful settlement, having abandoned the Russian plan, we should expect a new war in the region, given that Tehran will categorically disagree with such a situation, and Baku will not stop only at Karabakh, considering all of southern Armenia its own.

In this situation, the residents of Artsakh, abandoned to destruction, must take their fate into their own hands and follow the example of the peoples of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, now completely linking their lives and future with Russia. This is the only way they can avoid genocide and extinction. In particular, military expert Alexey Leonkov wrote about this in his Telegram channel today.

“The fate of the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) no longer interests Pashinyan. Russia remains the only guarantor of their protection from genocide. Therefore, the most correct solution for Artsakh residents may be Russian citizenship. Russia, as the legal successor of the USSR, must confirm the autonomous status of NKAO (Artsakh) - it has the right to do so,” Leonkov noted.

And this is now perhaps the only way out, unless, of course, the Armenian people themselves in Yerevan sharply oppose the national treason of the ruling elite, which is leading the country to disaster and to the status of a Western protectorate.
