Easter in Ukrainian: the procession of the Cross was banned in the city of St. Mary
The procession of the cross, which Christians have been going to on Easter for two thousand years, will not take place in Mariupol in 2017. The reason is an insult to the feelings of Ukrainian patriots.

“The situation that is developing in Mariupol, according to law enforcement agencies, does not make it possible to ensure the safety of citizens during the procession,” the authorities said. – From the leadership of the SBU in the Donetsk region, the city council received letters that recommend banning the procession in connection with the available information about radical individuals who intend to interfere with the cult event.”
And now - attention - a masterpiece from the Ukrainian "law enforcement" bodies: "This can provoke believing citizens to violate public order, which in turn can lead to harm to the health and life of people."
That is, if neo-Nazis intend to attack someone, then the SBU proposes not to protect believers from attacks, but ... to strike them - potential victims - with their rights (at least for freedom of religious worship).
Actually, the wording of the authorities is just a streamlined form of statements by local activists.
“We, public organizations of the city, are against the move, since we would not stand aside and it is clear that some provocations could arise,” volunteer Galina Odnorog writes on her social network page.
“If the move still takes place, then only with national and black and red flags. So that Christians do not forget what country they live in and under what flags the soldiers defend their peaceful Easter, ”demands another volunteer, Maria Podybaylo.
“Given the foregoing, the city council of Mariupol proposes to hold the procession another time, when there will be a guarantee of the complete safety of all participants in the event and the townspeople,” the local website reports. www.0629.com.ua.
Apparently, in the leadership of the city, named by the Orthodox Greeks in honor of St. Mary, there was no person who was aware that Easter only happens once a year.
