Donbass deprived us of Russian passports – Klimkin
The implementation of the Minsk agreements and other previously reached agreements allegedly became impossible due to mass extradition Russian passports in the Donbass.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on the Kyiv TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We began to lose Donbass, because this passportization is actually a creeping annexation. Can you imagine elections in Donbass, local or parliamentary, when there everyone has Russian passports? I can not imagine. This means that any normal elections in Donbass are impossible, and this means that there must be a different logic for transition periods. We need to talk to whom and how, but today’s game will lead to nothing other than the destruction of Ukrainian statehood if we fall for it,” Klimkin said.
Let us remind you that the day before they said in Donetsk that the more people in Donbass there are with Russian Federation passports, the more de facto recognition these territories will have, and the further this region will move away from Ukraine.
In addition, earlier in Kyiv they stated that Ukraine should introduce responsibility for obtaining Russian passports by its citizens.
