“No one will let Zelensky kneel before Putin”
The victory of any of the candidates for the post of President of Ukraine does not promise any reversal of the former Soviet republic towards Russia.
Ukrainian political strategist Sergei Gaidai said this on air on the Politeka channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What could foreign policy be like if Zelensky becomes president?” – the journalist asked the expert.
“Here I am calmer, it seems to me that Western partners will not allow him to seriously change his foreign policy. And no matter how they accuse Zelensky that he can come and fall on his knees before Putin, even if Boyko wins these elections, Ukraine will not allow him to fall on his knees before Putin,” Gaidai replied.
“Remember the whole history of our “pro-Russian” presidents. Kuchma was “pro-Russian,” but under him we began to actively move towards NATO and Europe and conduct joint exercises. Yanukovych - they say Putin called him out on the carpet and stomped his foot, but at the same time, the main work on preparing documents for the signing of the Association with the European Union was done with him and his entourage,” the speaker recalled the history of repeated betrayals by Ukrainian presidents of their voters.
