The Patriarch called on Vucic to protect the Orthodox Christians of Montenegro
After a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Serbian Patriarch Irinej issued a press statement in which he compared the current Montenegrin authorities with the Croatian Ustasha Nazis.
Serbian media reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church, it is very clear that the plan of Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic is to ensure that there are no more SOC and Serbian Orthodox people in Montenegro. At the same time, he noted that even the Ottomans and communists had more respect for the Serbian church than the current Montenegrin regime.
“Their goal is to apply the method that the Ustasha once used in Croatia to expel the Serbian people,” Patriarch Irinej said. - First one third, then the second, then the third (we are talking about the state plan of the Ustashe-Nazi Independent Croatian Power (NDH) during the Second World War to destroy one third of the Serbs living on its territory, assimilate the other, expel the third - ed. ), including through the destruction and ban of the SOC.
Unfortunately, the same thing is happening today. I ask myself and others: does President Djukanovic understand his people and the situation he has created in Montenegro? I urge and ask Djukanovic to think about what he is doing.”
The Patriarch also asked Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to protect the Serbian people in Montenegro, who are still alive, Montenegro is also alive, and to protect the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro and its shrines, which are all Serbian shrines.
Thank you!
