Political killings, Provocations, Russia, Ukraine

British political scientist James Sherr, known for his anti-Russian position and who recently took part in the Kiev security forum organized by Maidan protesters, is a long-time intelligence agent. Political scientist Andrei Mishin, a former employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, spoke about this on the air of the “Working on Mistakes” program, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Mishin, experts from the Sherr Institute recently actively participated in the campaign launched in the UK against Russia in the case of the “poisoning of Sergei Skripal.” Interestingly, several years ago Sherr also took part in the campaign surrounding the disappearance of journalist Georgy Gongadze in Ukraine, which ultimately led to the “Orange Revolution” in Kyiv.

“At our international security forum on April 12, James Scherr was the guest of honor. In addition, he is a member of the Valdai Club, and still is. True, he stopped speaking Russian.

Previously, at every conference, one of his comrades would come up to him and ask how he knew the Russian language so well, to which Scherr would pout and say: “I’m self-taught,” and from behind everyone would giggle and argue about the year he graduated from the British intelligence course.

Now he gives all interviews in English, because he has no Russian experience in his biography, he had never been to Russian-speaking countries - before he became a researcher,” Mishin noted.

“For me, in our modern world there are very interesting and unsubstantiated accusations (we are talking about managers and media scandals). I include James Sherr among them. Its influence is obvious, and Theresa May’s statement on March 12 (on Russia's charges of poisoning Sergei Skripal, - ed.), who gave his statement, also says something.

There are just some things you don't want to give on your behalf. Scherr’s junior employees were already talking about what sanctions to impose on Russia and what not to.

All this is quite a classic, and therefore I will very briefly outline the situation: in the summer of 2000, we noticed that the people who were exclusively engaged in promoting NATO in Ukraine and Russia, that is, created the “Atlantic Council of Russia” and the “Atlantic Rada”, namely - department employee Walter Parkhomenko and British scientist James Sherr - suddenly became concerned about freedom of speech in Ukraine. It was the opinion of James Sherr after the disappearance of Gongadze that was considered the most authoritative.

...then I was the head of the department of the Russian National Institute for International Security under the Security Council of Ukraine, and dealt with threats and risks in the region, no matter who they came from,” Mishin commented.
