Chairman of the Board of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov stated this today at a meeting within the framework of the Russian Energy Week, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today I am frightened by both low prices and very high ones. I'm not a fan of the price going back to $60-70. This could lead to the same results that we had in the 2000s. We need to smoothly exit the agreement with OPEC so that the market does not become scarce,” Alekperov said.
He believes that high oil prices in the XNUMXs led to the development of alternative energy.
“I am a patriot of hydrocarbons. Today our product is in demand. I am confident that we will overcome the shortage and will steadily supply the world’s population at an affordable price,” Alekperov said.
