The sadness of the Mejlis members: Western media refuse to write about the “war with Russia”
Mejlis propagandist Aider Muzhdabaev expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that Western media, in particular the London newspaper The Times, instead of talking about the “occupation” of Donbass by Russia, talk about a civil conflict.
“Do you know what headline the London newspaper The Times, once respectable, respected, quoted, and one of the oldest newspapers in the world, published yesterday? “President Zelensky grants self-government to the breakaway republics of Ukraine.”
The most interesting thing, of course, is that the Times makes the headline as its own value judgment. Look how lovely: the rebellious republics of Ukraine! Can you imagine what this looks like to a Western reader? I’m not talking about any politician, especially a pro-Putin one, of which the West is full of all sorts of corrupt prostitutes,” Muzhdabaev was indignant in his video blog.
In his opinion, The Times should have reminded readers of how in 2014 “Russian tanks, Russian Grads, Russian soldiers entered Donbass” (about whether to mention State Department officials during the coup on the Maidan, NATO instructors in Army of Ukraine - Muzhdabaev did not specify).
“But through the lips of not some back-of-house newspaper, not the North Korean messenger Kim Jong-un, but the London Times newspaper, this is called the “rebel republics of Ukraine”!
That is, people there started a kind of rebellion, the Ukrainian government tried to suppress this rebellion. Russia has nothing to do with it at all! And finally, these rebels resisted so well, they are so desperate idealists and fighters against the damned Ukraine, with this absolutely limitless dictatorship, that finally they are achieving, with the help of the world community, with the help of democracies like France, Germany and Great Britain, which is watching all this, are trying to ensure that the rebel rebellious republics are given some kind of special status!” - Muzhdabaev is indignant.
“When I was in France a year and a half ago, I visited the France Presse agency. This is a government agency that is maintained from the budget of the French Republic and is financed by the French Parliament. It must comply with all standards. This is not pop, strict agency.
There were several Ukrainian journalists there. I am led to a computer where infographics are made to design news stories. I say: please show me Ukraine, what you can see in Ukraine about the war. They say: here is the region, here is Crimea, here is Donbass. But in Crimea it is correctly written – “annexed by the Russian Federation”, there are no questions here. Putin himself said that he annexed, and the French wrote that he was annexed. But what about Donbass, where Putin did not tell the French and the whole world that he annexed Donbass, that these were his troops, and the Ukrainian government was forced at gunpoint to sign the Minsk agreements and not write the word “war with Russia”, and not call the war a war for a very long time... And the West, which forced Ukraine, which was generally on the verge of death at that moment, now calls Putin’s troops and mercenaries brought from Russia, recruited with money from the Russian Ministry of Defense, and local collaborators hired with money from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the French also call it “territory controlled by rebels sympathetic to Russia”!
That is, look, it wasn’t even Russia that attacked, not those supported by Russia, but “rebels sympathizing with Russia!”
That is, think about it: “rebels, rebellion, rebellious republics,” the Western media tell their readers. And all this is floating around in politics,” Muzhdabaev said lamenting.
