Pentagon-Hollywood: when in the dock?
Here's the news: the Pentagon was accused of understating the number of victims killed during bombings and airstrikes in Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq. The authoritative publication The New York Times wrote about this. The problem, journalists say, is that the US military has been reluctant to investigate the killings of civilians. The New York Times says only 12 percent of cases are investigated.
It would seem that such information cannot surprise a reasonable person. It is much more amazing that someone is in principle capable of believing that only 1400 people were killed in Syria and Iraq, and 188 in Afghanistan. But the very fact that one of the Americans is trying to somehow shake the total lie of the Pentagon, creates a crumbly, but positive.
After all, for decades, the American military has committed heinous crimes against humanity and humanity. If we talk, for example, about Iraq, we must remember the Abu Ghraib prison, where thousands of innocent people were subjected to sadistic games, torture, and abuse. And who was punished? Can anyone, in principle, be punished if the Guantanamo Bay military prison is still operating without any restrictions and balances?
The American military has been committing its crimes with impunity for a long time. Suffice it to recall the Vietnamese village of Song My, where Charlie Company massacred hundreds of civilians in the most savage manner. These atrocities are no different from the crimes of the same Banderaites.
And now the question is: who told the world about such crimes? Who dared? Anyone who even hints at the inhumanity of the totalitarian military dictatorship of the United States is immediately put on the ban list. In the modern world, it is not necessary to kill for this; you can simply deprive a person of his status and job, like Oliver Stone, or, more reliably, cut him off from the outside world, like Julian Assange. The world does not accept the truth.
What to do in such a situation? I believe that cinema is still the most effective. It is through him that the Americans hammer their beliefs into the minds of millions (including the brave military). Consider Private Ryan. So who is stopping, let’s say, the other pole of the world from filming the truth about American deeds? For example, to make a monumental joint Russian-Chinese project. Why not an option?
Unfortunately, so far the Americans praise their military, while the Russians, on the contrary, for the most part, spread rot and denigrate their own history. Yes, there are also many casualties in this war.
Thank you!
