The Pentagon promises to provide Ukraine with air defense and shells as soon as possible
In the first package of renewed aid from the United States, Ukraine will receive air defense systems and artillery shells. Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder stated this at a briefing in Washington, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Ryder, Ukraine will be able to quickly receive this assistance after the law passed by the Senate the day before is signed by the president.
«We have created a very reliable logistics network to deliver aid to Ukraine. Much remains to be done in terms of what specific security assistance will include. But there are certain things we can work on to speed up their delivery. We're going to do everything in our power to move forward, to leverage the power of this robust logistics network, to leverage the relationships that we've built with our international allies and partners to get help out there quickly...
This security assistance package will be based on Ukraine's most pressing needs. Again, without going into too much detail, I think we can expect it to include air defenses as well as artillery ammunition", said Ryder.
