The Pentagon showed a new American nuclear submarine for mine warfare

The US Navy on Saturday, March 17, accepted into service the new Virginia-class nuclear submarine USS Colorado, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The Colorado submarine will travel thousands of miles to protect our nation and our interests around the world. We cannot imagine all the missions she will fly and all the places she will visit, but we know that her stealth, durability, combat power and speed will provide undersea control to our fleet,” Adm. J. Franklin Caldwell said at the presentation. -Jr.

As noted, the displacement of the USS Colorado is 7,8 thousand tons, length - about 115 m, width - more than 10 m. Under water, the boat is capable of speeds of up to 46 km/h. The submarine can perform missions in both coastal and deep ocean environments.

USS Colorado can perform multiple missions: anti-submarine warfare, anti-ship defense, special operations forces delivery, strike warfare, irregular warfare, intelligence, surveillance and sensing, and mine warfare.
