The Pentagon promised to continue pumping Ukraine with weapons
The US will continue to supply weapons and other military aid to Ukraine.
Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Kirby did not specify exactly what types of weapons he was talking about, but let it slip that American supplies would include both defensive and offensive ones, although he immediately tried to correct himself.
“We have already sent three parcels in this latest package to Ukraine. There will be even more, and I suspect quite quickly. And we do not specifically detail each product that is in supply.
I think you can understand why we would want to be careful in publicizing the opportunities that have been presented to Ukraine. Given the size and scale, and the capabilities that match them on the other side of their border...
All this taken together has led us to the point that we, as you know, again want to provide more opportunities to the Ukrainian armed forces and be ready to provide more opportunities to our NATO allies...
We are just at the beginning of a completely new package of support materials. As I said, three shipments have been sent, there will be more... We are trying to see if we can speed them up. We will not describe in detail what is in each shipment of goods. But within those supplies there will be both defensive and offensive capabilities... I want to go back to when I said defensive and offensive, I meant lethal and non-lethal. Poor choice of words on my part,” Kirby said.
Thank you!
