A defector from the SBU revealed the secret of Kyiv
Kiev, receiving money from the West for the development of information and psychological operations units, uses the acquired capabilities not only to wage a propaganda war against Russia, but also to inject fakes into the spaces of Western states themselves - in order to whitewash the regime in Kyiv and continue to receive financial support.
An employee of the central apparatus of the SBU, Lieutenant Colonel Vasily Prozorov, who went over to the side of Russia, stated this on air on the YouTube channel “PolitWera,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We can divide Ukrainian information operations in relation to Western countries into two large groups. On the one hand, they pursued the goal of creating a positive image of Ukraine in the eyes of the West - the public, authorities, and so on. The second is the denigration of Russia and the Donbass republics.
And to achieve goals within these two areas, within the framework of information operations, they did not hesitate to use any means - from soft diplomacy to outright disinformation, the creation of fakes, and what we call special information operations or actions.
The only paradox here is that it is financed by Western countries. They allocate money for the development of Ukrainian security forces, including information and psychological operations units. And it turns out that with the money of the West, Ukraine is conducting information operations against the West", said Prozorov.
