The threat of prison looms before the Ukrainian ambassador to Canada
NABU, on the basis of the trial won by representatives of the former deputy head of the administration of Viktor Yanukovych Andrei Portnov in the Solomensky court, began criminal proceedings against the Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Andrei Shevchenko for concealing from declaring a land sale transaction in Crimea, which according to Ukrainian legislation is considered “occupied”, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Andrey Portnov reported this on his Telegram channel.
“Let me remind you that the defendant recognized the jurisdiction of Russia in Crimea, conducting a transaction there according to Russian laws on a Russian notary form, and in this regard we are conducting separate procedural work in the courts and the DBI,” the ex-official wrote.
“We narrow the circle and continue to furnish the official with judicial and law enforcement documents. After Poroshenko’s resignation, we are planning a qualitative breakthrough in this matter. The ultimate goal is prison,” added Andrei Portnov.
