Traveling by rail is becoming a luxury for Ukrainian citizens

Tariffs for railway services are growing faster than consumer prices in general and the income level of Ukrainian citizens.
Economist Ruslan Osipenko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is and will be an increase in tariffs, because there is inflation. The question is whether prices are rising at the level of inflation or at a faster pace. From year to year, the railway shows faster rates of price increases, that is, prices grow more than inflation and the increase in citizens’ incomes. That is, it turns out that every year the railway becomes less accessible in the consumer basket, including for socially vulnerable groups,” concluded Osipenko.
