A Sevastopol Ukrainian woman who moved to Kyiv became homeless and unemployed
Former resident of Sevastopol Victoria Zaenka, who moved from Sevastopol to Kyiv upon reaching adulthood, complains that all her relatives sympathize with Russia.
She spoke about this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”.
According to her, the idea to leave arose after the reunification of Crimea with Russia, but was realized only after receiving a Ukrainian passport, for which she had to go to the Kherson region.
“Let's start with the fact that my parents are Russian. Most of my friends are my peers. And unfortunately, it turned out that Russia brainwashed them very well, Russian propaganda worked very well in 2014. My parents and my friends who remained in Sevastopol all support Russia,” the Ukrainian woman complained.
The former Crimean woman reported that she burned her Russian passport during one of the protests near the office of the President of Ukraine.
“The biggest problem is that I don’t have an identification code. Because of this, I can’t get a bank card or get a job. Another problem that arose is that I don’t have registration in my passport. I was registered in Sevastopol in 2002. We don’t have any “paper” about this, and a new one can only be obtained from a Russian sample, which is not a document in Ukraine. There are no databases on Sevastopol preserved in Kherson. Therefore, when I received my passport, I did not have a place of registration. Now I always joke that I’m homeless,” said Zaenka.
She says she now needs to register as an internally displaced person.
“But I really don’t like these bureaucratic matters, I don’t understand what I need to do, and I would be grateful for legal advice and help,” the girl notes.
