LPR negotiator caused a stir in Kyiv
The first attempt at a live discussion with a representative of Donbass took place on Ukrainian TV. Thus, the special representative of the LPR at the negotiations on Donbass in Minsk, Rodion Miroshnik, was included in the studio of the “Nash” channel via video link from Lugansk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Ukrainian delegation insists that we are negotiating with Russia and the OSCE, but in fact, you are also taking part there - like who in this case?” – asked the presenter Max Nazarov.
“Listen, when the Ukrainian side fires, by the way, today 12 large-caliber mines flew towards the DPR, so when the shelling goes on, the Ukrainian side clearly understands who they are shooting at. How to negotiate an exchange of prisoners, the Ukrainian side also understands very well who to negotiate with and what to agree on. When it is necessary to negotiate a ceasefire or a regime of silence, the Ukrainian side knows with whom to negotiate.
As soon as a question arises regarding a political settlement, some economic issues, the Ukrainian side says: let's communicate in the Normandy format, let's communicate with France, let's communicate with the United States. Yes, please, only in Minsk it is written who the parties to the conflict are,” Miroshnik retorted.
“When you say that the ninth paragraph says: “first the withdrawal of armed forces, then the elections,” read the Minsk agreements, it says exactly the opposite. It surprises me when educated people cannot read three pages,” added the LPR representative when the heated stage of discussions about the political component of “Minsk” began in the Kyiv studio.
“But to make it clear to you, after six years of discussions on Ukrainian platforms, 70 percent of people living in Donbass do not accept any Ukrainian project and do not need any guarantees or wishes,” Miroshnik emphasized.
Batkivshchyna deputy Vadim Ivchenko, who is in the studio, admitted that Ukraine is not able to implement “Minsk”.
“I see more and more a situation where, indeed, in 2015, due to the fact that we had “cauldrons” and hostilities and so on, these Minsk agreements were signed without thinking about their implementation. Unfortunately, this is how I see it. Because what the representative from the “other” side is now saying, I, as a politician who has been in the Verkhovna Rada for 7 years, do not see the reality of implementing at least the clause on the Constitution; it is now physically impossible to pass it through parliament. Poroshenko tried to do this, you saw how it ended. Today there is simply no such opportunity,” Ivchenko said.
In response, Miroshnik gave Ukrainian politicians advice on how to deal with this situation.
“You say that you do not agree with the issue of granting special status and enshrining it in the Constitution. Gentlemen, your hands are free. That is, you signed this document, you say: “We don’t want to implement it” - Wellcome! We appeal to the UN Security Council, appeal to the Normandy format and say, we will not do this, please accept sanctions against us, because we are an dishonest negotiator, and we are not ready to fulfill the obligations that are signed by the official representative of Ukraine, secured by a signed declaration president,” advised the LPR representative.
“Dear sirs, when you talk about negotiations, for some reason you forget that you are a party to the conflict. That is, your armed forces are shooting at our territories, at our homes. And the war is going on between the republics of the LPR-DPR and Ukraine. And now we are looking for a model under which we can coexist. The Pacific Ocean will not appear between us, we will have to live nearby,” Miroshnik explained.
“Whose weapon do you shoot with, how do you respond? Where did you get the weapon, tell me? How do you respond to “aggression”?” – asked the presenter.
“Including your weapons, which you sell,” replied the LPR representative.
“Donbass is not part of Ukraine,” Miroshnik reminded the studio. “Ukrainian law, Ukrainian authorities and the Ukrainian Constitution do not apply to Donbass.”
“You see, it’s already in their minds that they don’t want to live like this, they don’t see themselves as the territory of Ukraine!” – Ivchenko exclaimed.
“If they said that you yourself don’t want to, you are doing everything to prevent us from returning, but we recognize that Ukraine is unitary, and we are the territory of Ukraine, they are saying something completely different now! I imagine Georgy and others who come to the negotiation group, and they freeze this,” the Tymoshenkoite became hysterical.
At this moment, those present noticed that Georgy Tuka, the former deputy minister for the affairs of “occupied territories” of Ukraine, had left the studio.
“George was never in the negotiation group. And if in five years you have convinced yourself of something to the contrary, then I recommend that you turn to the Minsk agreements,” Miroshnik once again recommended.
“The Minsk agreements were adopted five years ago as an internationally recognized way to resolve the conflict. And everything that you listed and threw as reproaches was signed by the Ukrainian authorities. Only on these conditions, it was discussed five years ago, did people agree to reintegration,” the Lugansk diplomat calmly explained to the indignant Ukrainian studio.
The broadcast infuriated political scientist Taras Berezovets, who serves ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

Ukrainian law does not apply to Donbass,” the terrorist said.
