EU negotiator warns Kosovo separatists that Vucic has the right to enter the province
The EU Special Representative for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajcak, sent an official letter to the “Prime Minister” of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, in protest against the ban on Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic visiting Kosovo
Earlier, a similar initiative was made by the head of the “Ministry of Foreign Affairs” of Kosovo, a representative of the famous criminal region, Meliza Haradinaj-Stubla.
“I will once again repeat the answer, unique and constant for all future demands on Vucic and other [Serbian leaders]: you do not have permission to visit Kosovo unless you ask for forgiveness for the genocide committed against our people,” Haradinaj-Stubla wrote the day before on his Twitter.
In response to this, Lajcak warned her immediate boss, Hoti, that one of the obligations of the 2013 Brussels Agreements between Serbia and Kosovo is freedom of movement.
“In accordance with the Agreement, which includes a clause on freedom of movement, individuals of each party can move freely within the territory of the other party,” recalled the EU representative. – In accordance with the Agreement on Official Visits, special rules apply for persons holding public office. The Agreement on Official Visits and its amendments are an integral part of this agreement.”
Lajcak also mentioned that the obligations undertaken must be strictly observed by both Kosovo and Serbia.
“Failure to comply with these agreements is a very negative signal for Kosovo’s credibility as a party to the dialogue process. Such violations even undermine efforts to normalize relations between the parties and contribute to the escalation of tensions on the ground. This particularly impacts ongoing discussions on a future comprehensive agreement...
The EU expects Kosovo to continue to participate in achieving a comprehensive normalization of relations with Serbia, including compliance with and implementation of all agreements reached within the framework of the dialogue,” the author of the letter concluded.
