The re-elected mayor of the “third capital” is not going to change his team
The mayor of Novosibirsk, communist Anatoly Lokot, who won the municipal elections, took office as mayor for the second time.
Today at the State Concert Hall, Lokot took the oath of allegiance to the city and promised to continue the transformations he had previously begun.
“I, Lokot Anatoly Evgenievich, taking office as mayor of the city of Novosibirsk, solemnly promise: to fairly exercise the powers granted to me, to honestly and conscientiously fulfill my duties, to exert all my abilities for the benefit of the residents of the city of Novosibirsk,” said the mayor.
In a comment to reporters, he emphasized that he does not intend to radically change his policy and will continue what he and his team laid down in the first term.
“I am not planning personnel changes; the core of the team has formed. My deputies, in my opinion, work successfully and cope with their responsibilities. Those who didn’t want to work or chose another job went their own way,” said Elbow.
Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Andrei Travnikov, who was present at the inauguration, praised the mayor for the work done during his first term and promised his support.
“I have said more than once that the development of the region is impossible without the development of its capital. This is also a confirmation of the correctness of your balanced approach to the socio-political development of the region, confirmation that political ambitions are secondary against the background of solving important strategic problems of the region’s development,” Travnikov said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that communist Anatoly Lokot, mayor of the third most populous city in Russia - Novosibirsk, re-elected for a new term, winning the first round with more than 50% of the votes.
