Outwitted himself: Papa Clement went on a hunger strike in Kyiv
The schismatic “Archbishop” Clement, head of the “OCU” in Crimea, announced the start of a hunger strike under the walls of the Ukrainian government in the center of Kyiv demanding a meeting with the Prime Minister.
Kliment today held a single picket of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, unfurling a poster with the inscription “Ensure the rights of religious freedom of Ukrainians in Crimea.”
The essence of the demands is that official Kyiv put pressure on Russia and help keep the OCU in ownership A building in the center of Simferopol that was “taken over” in the 90s as a schismatic church.
Clement lost his property after he thoughtlessly swore allegiance to the new schismatic structure created in Ukraine - the “OCU”, while the Simferopol temple was listed as belonging to Filaret’s “UOC KP”.
“OCU” refused to undergo legalization under Russian laws in Crimea.
“This is the extreme measure I took by going on a hunger strike. For five years, neither I, nor the believers, nor the clergy who serve in the Crimean diocese have had support from the Ukrainian authorities. I demand that the authorities begin the process of protecting the OCU faithful in Crimea,” Kliment said in an interview with reporters.
