Cross yourself, Gontareva! The economist admonishes the main banker of Ukraine, who collapsed the hryvnia
Kyiv, February 27 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Foreign investments, contrary to the assurances of senior Ukrainian officials, will not come into the country.
The ex-deputy chairman of the NBU, Honored Economist of Ukraine Sergei Yaremenko said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He said that he came to both the current head of the NBU, Valeria Gontareva, and her predecessor, Stepan Kubiv, under whom a rapid devaluation of the hryvnia occurred.
“I’m telling you, you have the illusion that everything is fine in the country,” the economist shared details of conversations with the leadership of the NBU. - It's better to be safe than sorry. You must declare that at that time we still had only the beginning of the end. And we must immediately introduce the most necessary measures, which have not yet been decided upon. They answered me with some prejudices and myths about investments. Like, now we will get investments. I say: “Cross yourself! There is overproduction in the world. The world is busy not with how to produce, but where to dispose of it.”
According to the former deputy chairman of the NBU, overproduction is the main problem of today’s capitalism against the backdrop of shrinking markets and growing production, and therefore Ukraine should not hope for a flow of investment.
“Therefore, misleading an entire nation means setting up hopes for growth,” points out Seregy Yaremenko. “When they don’t come true, you don’t get the happiness you expected, and your pessimism and dissatisfaction with the authorities becomes even greater. But you bring it to this yourself, instead of telling people: take a shovel and row - there is no other way out.”
The economist also noted that today people increasingly understand that “military events are not the cause of the problems that appear in our country.”
