“The situation in the Donetsk People's Republic remains difficult. The intensity of shelling by the Ukrainian side has increased over the past 53 hours and amounted to XNUMX ceasefire violations,” they noted.
According to the defense department, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled the following settlements of the Republic: Zheleznaya Balka, Nikolaevka, Zhabichevo, Dokuchaevsk, Zaitsevo, Spartak, Lozovoye, Kalinovka, Gorlovka and Logvinovo. The Abakumov mine in the urban village of Staromikhailovka, Petrovsky district and the area of the Donetsk international airport were also shelled.
“98 artillery shells of 152 and 122 mm caliber, 22 tank shells, 161 mines of 82 and 120 mm caliber were fired into the territory of Donbass; anti-tank weapons, grenade launchers and small arms were also used,” the Ministry of Defense noted.

The demand for a ceasefire was included in the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements. This document was signed by the participants of the Contact Group (DPR, LPR, OSCE, Russian Federation and Ukraine) on February 12.
