Truces do not become a guarantee against provocations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
In the event of an escalation of the situation at the front, negotiations of the security subgroup may be held via emergency video conference.
Denis Pushilin, the permanent plenipotentiary representative of the DPR at the negotiations in Minsk, told reporters about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Commenting on the upcoming meeting in Minsk, which is scheduled for March 14, Denis Pushilin did not rule out the possibility of holding negotiations via Skype.
“One meeting is planned in Minsk within the Contact Group, however, if there are changes in the situation, then some kind of emergency gatherings, for example, via videoconference, cannot be ruled out. This kind of agreement has existed for quite a long time, at least for the security subgroup,” he noted.
Speaking about the recently concluded “absolute truce,” he said that, like all previous ones, it guarantees the absence of full-scale hostilities, but does not exclude local shelling.
“As for the truce itself, like all previous truces - Khlebnoye, Shkolnoye, we can only record that they give us the absence of full-fledged military operations. But it is impossible to completely rule out provocations on the part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and shelling along the contact line. It is worth noting that the main goal of all agreements, their regular updating, is to prevent the possibility of starting a full-scale war,” Pushilin said.
