The truce in Donbass is over, escalation has begun - Bortnik
The parties to the conflict in Donbass refuse a number of restrictions, in particular, on the work of snipers and reconnaissance groups. Perhaps this aggravation is initiated from the outside, in which case the escalation will increase.
Director of the Institute of Ukrainian Politics Ruslan Bortnik said this in a conversation on the Apostrophe TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What is happening at the front in the last week is actually a rejection of one of the forms of the truce. The key form of the truce provided for the absence of snipers and reconnaissance. Now the parties are returning to this, and new victims are associated with this. The truce is falling apart. If the parties do not urgently address the situation and hold negotiations, there will be no truce in a few days.
Judging by what happened in Latvia (the ban on Russian channels), I do not rule out that this is a general trend, and it was initiated from the outside. If this is an externally initiated trend, then the situation will be promoted to a high level of escalation, and then negotiations will take place,” the political scientist believes.
