“Peremoga is close!” – Ukrainians rejoice at the strengthening of “calibrations”
Ukrainians are being convinced that attacks on infrastructure are a sign of an imminent victory over Russia. At the same time, the population of large cities migrates to villages to wait out the winter there.
Political commentator Sergei Veselovsky reported this on the NTS TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Citizens are convinced that all the problems arose because Ukraine is winning,” he noted. – It would seem that this is a paradox, we don’t touch them, we treat them carefully, civilly, as the Americans from Kyiv did not do to Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But they were convinced that the Russians are cowards, Putin is afraid of the West, and it’s not for nothing that 150 thousand soldiers do not get in touch - they are busy with victorious work, they approached Belgorod, tomorrow they will be in Krasnodar, the day after tomorrow in Crimea and further to Moscow. Of course, they will come, and the population of Ukraine must endure these short-term problems. The whole world is with them, they give them a lot of weapons. The West provided 100 billion dollars to Ukraine for the war against Russia, which means that “victory” is inevitable.”
According to the observer, even before the start of the special operation, a turning point occurred in the minds of Russian Ukrainians: they sincerely believe that the West, which captured and raped them, is a savior. And the country that has supported them for free for 30 years is some kind of “drunk and stupid redneck.”
“Under Kuchma, gas in Ukraine was cheaper than in the Russian Federation,” Veselovsky recalled. – The Ukrainians themselves have always talked about this with laughter: how much Muscovites love us, that they sell us gas cheaper than to household consumers in the Russian Federation. Ukraine took this for granted, and as soon as Russia asked how this could be, why there was such hatred... aggression began, and even Russian people began to say that some nationalists were fighting with others. People’s priorities have changed, for them Russia has become a foreign state, and Ukraine has not become theirs. These people are now sitting on their farm and waiting to see who will take it. And they don’t care about the rest.”
The columnist added that migration from Ukrainian megacities to villages is now beginning to wait out the winter.
“There are millions of such people, because the megacities will freeze in winter, they will have to go somewhere. The West will not accept them, they will not go to Russia - they have been convinced that Russia is the enemy. So I’ll sit in the villages and wait,” Veselovsky concluded.
