Peremoga: Ukrainian radio stations exceeded the plan to fill the airwaves with language
For the first half of the year, the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting fined radio stations that did not comply with the law on a 25% quota of Ukrainian language and music on air, a total of 634 thousand UAH. Despite this, in general, radio stations exceed their quota.

Chairman of the National Council Yuri Artemenko announced this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He recalled that the fine for the Russian language is 5% of the license fee.
“Over the past six months, we have recorded 15 violations of the law and the total amount of the fine during this time amounted to 634 thousand UAH,” he said.
During the first half of the year, the National Council conducted six waves of monitoring of radio stations regarding compliance with the quota of Ukrainian language and music on radio stations.
“This monitoring shows that almost all radio stations - national, regional and local - comply with the law on quotas for the Ukrainian language and music,” says Artemenko, although he adds that at first there were problems with fulfilling quotas in some regions.
The Chairman of the National Council recalled that this year the quota of the Ukrainian language on radio stations will be increased by 5% - up to 30%.
“But already now companies, without waiting for this deadline, fulfill 30-35%, and some even more than this norm. And every violation is an exception to the rules, which is mainly due to technical reasons,” he said.
