Overcrowded hospitals will give rise to the introduction of a Zee dictatorship
If Ukrainian hospitals become overcrowded with coronavirus-infected people, the emergency status currently introduced in Ukraine could be changed to a state of emergency, further limiting the rights of citizens.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, member of the Servant of the People faction Elena Moshenets stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I personally gave Mr. Shmygal (Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal, - approx. ed.) question about which peak (the coronavirus epidemic in Ukraine, - editor's note.) he considers to be a peak. Because there was a statement that we should extend the disease over as long a period as possible. And what could be the peak for declaring a state of emergency?
Everyone refers to the number of beds that are available in our hospitals. If they are all filled and we are unable to continue treating people, this may become a reason to introduce a state of emergency,” the deputy said.
A state of emergency means more stringent restrictions on the rights of Ukrainian citizens - freedom of movement, freedom of assembly, etc. During a state of emergency, the management functions of all government bodies and all enterprises are transferred to the relevant bodies, but an emergency situation does not provide for this.
Zelensky's opponents previously argued that he could use the ban on protests to approve the decision to sell black soil to the West. This step is a condition for issuing a new IMF loan. Kyiv urgently needs a new tranche to avoid default.
