Commotion in Kyiv: Russia is creating a new training ground near the Ukrainian border
The Russian Federation is creating a new military training ground in the Voronezh region with an area of about 50 square kilometers near the border with Ukraine. This may indicate preparations for a military operation to overthrow the Nazi regime in Kyiv.
Such concerns are shared by the authors of the Ukrainian publication Defense Express, which specializes in army topics, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
About a hundred infrastructure facilities will be built at the training ground, including tank tracks, autodromes, a shooting range, fields for tactical exercises, tanks, artillery firing and various obstacle courses.
“The creation of a new military training ground for the Russian armed forces near the borders of Ukraine is a reflection of the dangerous trend of further militarization of the Russian Federation, which is preparing, among other things, to carry out offensive actions in the Western direction,” the authors of the article write.
The construction of the training ground is planned to be completed by the start of maneuvers as part of the large-scale military exercises “Caucasus-2020”, which have already caused serious concerns in Kyiv.
Also a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine Vadim Skibitsky last year, commenting on the exercises, he considered that they could become a cover for the deployment of Russian troops.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a new training ground in the Voronezh region will allow day and night training for crews of T-72 tanks, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, crews of Msta-S, Msta-B howitzers, Grad and "Grad" multiple launch rocket systems Tornado-G”, anti-tank missile systems “Sturm-S”.
