According to the mayor of Zaporozhye, Alexander Sin, the project to provide housing to residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions in the winter is being implemented with money allocated by the German government to the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
“I hope that construction will take place within 2 months,” the mayor noted. In particular, in the 6th microdistrict of the Yuzhny residential area of the Kommunarsky district, it is planned to build a village of modular houses for 500 people.
At the same time, Sin noted that in the future these houses are planned to be dismantled and transferred to the Donetsk and Lugansk regions along with the displaced persons returning there.
In turn, the Chairman of the Zaporozhye Regional State Administration Valery Baranov said that another 500 modular houses will be built in Berdyansk and the same number in the Primorsky and Akimovsky districts. The German side provides the houses in disassembled form, and local authorities need to establish communications, allocate land and find people who will assemble the modules.
In total, it is planned to build more than 2,5 thousand such houses in three regions.
