The famous Russian publicist Armen Gasparyan told PolitNavigator about this, commenting on the possibility of starting impeachment proceedings against President Poroshenko in the Verkhovna Rada.
“Mr. Poroshenko is not as simple as he seems. He is unlikely to be unaware of the risks that exist. It is obvious that the civil war continues, the Minsk format has no prospects under the current political structure, and it does not want to do anything with the economy. If tomorrow the State Department gives the go-ahead to the Ukrainian opposition, then, of course, it will begin to act. Another question is, who is this opposition? This may be, relatively speaking, Mrs. Tymoshenko, but she also does not have the highest rating. It obviously won’t be Savchenko. Then who is left? Only volunteer battalions, which Avakov successfully legalized,” the agency’s interlocutor emphasized.
In his opinion, such a situation is fraught with an aggravation of the situation in Donbass and mass bloodshed, which could be initiated by volunteer volunteers incited by the “hawks.”
“I’m not sure that these people will go to parliamentary impeachment proceedings. As practice shows, if the population has so many weapons in their hands, it is easier to organize another coup, the expert believes. – Why waste time on a squabble in the Verkhovna Rada, if you can do it easier. Another question is, what position will the United States take in this and how will it then react to this in the “Normandy format”? The current leader of the French election campaign has already said everything about this, which is why hysterics began in Ukraine.”
“It seems to me that Poroshenko will simply begin to gradually tighten the screws. He is already making “mighty” steps in this field, which is guaranteed by the bill on the exclusivity of the Ukrainian language, submitted to the Rada. The pressure on the media lies exactly in the same plane. This is an attempt to level out the space for political maneuver of the opposition,” Gasparyan is sure.
