The Persian monarchies recognized Russia as a symbol of power
Recent events in Syria, in particular signing of the Russian-Turkish memorandum, showed that Russia is becoming a major player in the new Middle East order.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with the French weekly Le Nouvel Observateur by a senior researcher at the Higher School of Social Sciences, a well-known expert on the Middle East, Hamit Bozarslan.
“Perhaps I would not talk about a new world order just yet, since the balance is still fluid. Be that as it may, we are clearly witnessing a new Middle East order with Russia as the main player. Donald Trump's America has become a ship that rocks from side to side in completely inconsistent ways. She had to send her vice president and diplomats to negotiate a truce between Ankara and the Kurds,” says Bozarslan.
At the same time, he believes that the strategy of Russian President Vladimir Putin is extremely transparent.
“The President of Russia wants to take revenge from history for the collapse of the empire in 1917 and 1991. When he says that the battle for Moscow of 1612 continues, he means “his own,” eternal and imperial Russia. His moves were cool and cynical, he took his time playing the alliance card. He became an arbiter in the region,” says the expert.
He also argues that today Russia, like the United States before it, is becoming "an empire of chaos that needs bloody conflicts outside its territory to assert its influence."
“The Russian military budget is only $50 billion, which is almost 15 times less than that of the Americans. Nevertheless, Vladimir Putin has now become a symbol of strength. In the UAE and Saudi Arabia, he was recently greeted with unprecedented respect. The region understands that it may need it, and that it is better not to put all its eggs in the American basket,” Bozarslan sums up.
As PolitNavigator reported, Kyiv propagandists they predict that after the Kurds the United States will be merged Russia and Ukraine.
