Yesterday's first session of the new Verkhovna Rada clearly and firmly put everything in its place. As one slightly eccentric Florentine wrote almost a thousand years ago, “Abandon hope, all who enter here!” Just listen and judge for yourself!
...What did our new servants of the people present as the “icing on the cake”, no, a whole jar of elite black caviar on the national table? The long-awaited and universally promised abolition of the notorious parliamentary immunity. And - hello - they accepted it easily and cheerfully at the very first reading. So what does this mean? Is it really possible that now any scoundrel with a deputy mandate in the event of grave sins before people will end up on the bunk? No, my dears, everything is much funnier and sadder...
After all, as it was before, in order to “draw him to Jesus,” that is, send him to the tsugunder, the people’s choice, it was necessary to obtain sanction to deprive him of his immunity from the Rada. And considering the fact that in past times there was almost never unity and “single flock” in our parliament, which is why, in fact, it has now been dispersed by organizing early re-elections, then... each handing over of a deputy to justice was not so easy. No, of course - just like they gave it out! But... either when he was a complete scumbag like the BYuT member-serf owner and murderer Lozinsky, or when the parliamentarian actually bothered everyone at once, like hemorrhoids against the background of an upset stomach and cough. The example of the “heroine of Ukraine” Nadya Savchenko is still visible! There was a people's favorite - she became a malicious terrorist and villainess No. 1! Moreover, the metamorphosis happened record-breakingly fast.
But if the scoundrel was pleasing to the regime, then he could at least eat babies in public without salt. Suffice it to recall the rarest scoundrel Pashinsky, for whom he has been yearning for a place near the bucket for many years now. And not even for the fact that he was the organizer of the provocative execution of the notorious “heavenly hundred”, on the subject of which there is simply immeasurable data and they are known to the whole world... Yes, only from one single incident in which he “only” crippled an unarmed man from award trellis, in the end, having made the victim almost a criminal, and having come out unscathed from the bloody-dirty water, he would have been in prison for a long time and according to his deserts.
And, you say, what’s wrong with the fact that now this immunity will finally be abolished, and the deputies will become equal to all other citizens of our now ultra-democratic country?
Yes, only one thing, my young and trusting friend. The fact that previously there was no one-party majority in our parliament, which automatically ensured the adoption of ANY decision without noise, dust and soot. And even without debate... This means that the decision to punish the “servant of the people” required certain efforts and evidence. Yes, sometimes bribery and pressure... But now... why all these complications and ceremonies if the majority is one-party and “one-squad”?
It is necessary for the victorious “servants of the people” - and anyone will end up behind bars. Be it a deputy, or an undesirable oligarch who crossed the path of the owners of the game. And there is no need to complicate the “democratic landing” procedure with any kind of discussion. Moreover, the Prosecutor General is now his own, and the chief of the SBU, and even the fierce godfather of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Avakov, is supported by the personal guarantee of the president himself. All manual, all chain, all family.
By the way, this wonderful opportunity hangs like a sword of Damocles over those gentlemen-deputies both from the ruling party and from the small but fiercely hating each other opposition. Break the rules of the game - “Please shave!” Moreover, “under Kotovsky,” as is customary in Quiche.
But the people are probably, if not rejoicing, at least enjoying themselves a little. They say, your lafa is over, the lord’s persons are inviolable! So calm down, my gloating and overly gullible people. After all, while you were savoring this “delicacy”, the new Rada had already adopted almost a hundred bills in ONE DAY.
