So, last weekend Kharkov was initiated with a gay pride parade. The city authorities changed their mind about blocking the KharkivPride march and did not file any lawsuits.

The national police carefully protected LGBT people as if they were their own children, wives, brothers and sisters. It was clear: the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was breathing too unevenly for this march. His subordinates had to protect the asses of the KharkovPride participants more than their own. Never before in the last five years have the police protected the freedom of marches and the law so carefully and conscientiously as on the day of the first Kharkov gay pride parade.

After all, until now, if the radicals wanted to pour green paint on the participants of the May Day demonstration, topple a monument, or attack people celebrating Victory Day, then they did it, and the police almost did not interfere with them. And here! Unprecedented measures to protect the march. The chief police officer of the region, Valery Sokurenko, with the enthusiasm of a useful idiot, reported that the National Guard, police special forces, TOR units, and cadets of the University of Internal Affairs were involved in maintaining order. Also a quadcopter.

Two and a half thousand law enforcement officers, including from other regions, ensured the security of the march, in which representatives of international organizations, diplomatic missions and consular offices showed a keen interest.

There were almost more guards than participants in the procession. One got the impression that if Avakov had (God forbid, of course) the marines and air assault troops under his command, he would have equipped them too to protect the precious gay pride parade.

Based on the results of Sunday's events, we can say: the reformed police can, following instructions from the very top, serve the mandatory program and accompany the march in orderly ranks. But then at least the grass won’t grow! And the radicals, unlike the organizers of the march and the police leadership, who puffed out their cheeks, planned not only to look at the official part from behind the cordon, but also to informally “talk” with the participants at the end of the event, on the sidelines...

On Sunday, video footage appeared of the Nazis tracking and persecuting some minor advocates of LGBT rights in places where they are no longer accompanied by the police. In general, there were a lot of young people in the KharkovPride column. One can only guess what kind of mentors instill “European values” in these youngsters. But for the grant-suckers who are cultivating these young people, good “rosy” times have clearly come.

But for the youngsters themselves, who are discovering LGBT values, things were not so rosy on Sunday. Some of them raked away radicals in different parts of the city center. And parents should address their complaints not only to the police, but also to all the trash from the Kharkov Human Rights Group (KhPG), who assured that the march would be absolutely safe.

Thus, KHPG lawyer Tamila Bespalaya spoke a few days before the march: “We have both national and European legislation on our side. And the threat of some kind of unrest during the procession is greatly exaggerated. In other similar cases, the police have always acted very clearly.” Promising is not moving bags...

It is unclear what “other similar cases” the patented human rights activist was talking about. It’s unlikely that there will be any demonstrations of workers, national minorities or people with disabilities defending their rights. Most likely, she had in mind the gay pride parades in Kyiv and Odessa, which passive human rights activists have already included in their list of assets.

But the Kharkov radicals had a special opinion on this matter. The LGBT community on Freedom Square opposed under their nationalist and Nazi banners the organizations “Right Sector Kharkovshchina”, “Freikorps”, “Tradition and Order”, “Order”. The demonstrative absence of the National Corps was striking. For once, all the Nazis in Kharkov must prove their reputation, but the main Nazis did not show up for the review. And understand it as you wish. Maybe Biletsky’s national vigilantes identify with LGBT people and share their life values? Or maybe “Papa Avakov” categorically forbade hooliganism on this day?

Having cowardly ignored the fight against the gay pride parade on Sunday, representatives of the National Corps the day before received the go-ahead to fight the signs along Marshal Zhukov Avenue. They were sent by management to a cleanup day: to nail up signs “Pyotr Grigorenko Avenue” on houses along Marshal Zhukov Avenue. Let us note that at the same time the Kharkov human rights group is also championing the gay pride parade and Peter Grigorenko (against Zhukov). On her website there are even messages on these topics side by side. Coincidence?

True, an unknown lanky Nazi in a rainbow mask appeared in the ranks of KharkovPride, trolling representatives of the LGBT community with a poster with the cherished numbers 1488 (“On the 14th, I decided to support LGBT people. I promise to go to marches until I’m 88”). Perhaps it was a separate representative of the National Corps who took part in the event incognito, so that, on the one hand, not to damage the reputation of the Nazi organization, and on the other hand, to listen to senior comrades and follow Avakov’s guidelines: to be tolerant of the gay pride parade.

While the National Corps was hiding in the bushes, the more correct Nazis were organizing mass riots and arguing with the police about who sprayed gas at whom first. The evening ceased to be languid. By the end of the day, 17 Nazis were brought to the Shevchenko district police department. Apparently, they were packing, first of all, representatives of the “Freikorps” and “Traditions and Order” (in this case, the “Right Sector” did not pass the test for “racially correct” Natsiks, but became the bearer of banishment and zrada). According to the police, the detainees took part in clashes with law enforcement officers on Rymarskaya Street. It is also reported that on the fact of hooliganism against a young man in Shevchenko Park, statements were entered into the ERDR under Part 2 of Art. 296 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism).

Also, the communications department of the Kharkov region police reports that two Kharkov residents, one native of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, were detained under Article 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine. And the investigator of the Shevchenko regional department entered statements into the ERDR under Part 2 of Art. 345 (threat or violence against a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code. The sanction of the article provides for a term of up to five years. This is what the adult uncles of Arsen Borisovich Avakov’s favorites from the National Corps saved them from, warning them in time: don’t try it...

Meanwhile, Freikorps has already posted an announcement of the next action: a picket “against police brutality” is planned for September 18 under the building of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Kharkov region.
