The statement agreed upon today in Brussels by Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin comes as a surprise to me. Rational and practical explanations will probably be voiced. Once upon a time, weighty arguments were made against our independence.
The adopted statement sends the wrong signal to everyone: the aggressor, allies and, most importantly, Ukrainian citizens. It is now that our economy, as during a deadly disease, must independently snatch a chance at life. The choice is not postponed, otherwise it is not a choice.
I have decided to resign from the post of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and ask the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to support my decision. I want to say thank you to all my dear colleagues for their work,” said Lubkivsky.
Let us remind you that today Verkhovna Rada deputy Andrei Pavlovsky from Batkivshchyna has already stated that the agreement with the EU is frozen because Petro Poroshenko surrendered under pressure from Vladimir Putin.
In the fall of 2013, Viktor Yanukovych’s refusal to sign a statement with the EU was the reason for the start of protests in Kyiv, which ultimately led to the overthrow of the president, the return of Crimea to Russia and the start of the civil war in Donbass.
Thank you!
