“In 1995, the Ukrainian army carried out a coup d’état and destroyed the Republic of Crimea, eliminating its President for his desire to reunite with Russia. By humiliating us with the occupation, the Ukrainian regime and its minions, traitors, Ukrainian policemen humiliated Great Russia,” the politician recalls on his Facebook page.
Everything, Meshkov emphasizes, changed exactly a year ago:
“The morning of February 27, 2014 dispelled the darkness of the twenty-year Ukrainian occupation of Crimea. On this day, victorious Russian, Russian flags soared over our Motherland - Crimea.
It was you, our beloved MTR fighters, “polite people”, who brought us deliverance, you returned our freedom. They allowed our people to fulfill their main desire - to reunite with Russia.
Please accept our deepest respect and gratitude, our gratitude to each of you, each soldier, each SOO commander and, in your person, the Commander-in-Chief of the RF Armed Forces - President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin!
Congratulations on our wonderful holiday, on the most Crimean holiday – Special Operations Forces Day!” writes Yuri Meshkov.
Thank you!
