“In the evening I went out into the yard to walk the dog. Several people in police uniforms approached me and made sure that I was Meshkov’s son. After which they began to beat me. They knocked me down and started kicking me on the body and head. At the same time, they said that this is because your father “runs into” Aksenov.
They told me that they would deal with both my sister and her young daughter if the father did not stop the “attacks.” They said that they would kill my dog too.
I got through to a police officer I knew, after they stopped beating me, and reported the attack.
I complied with his request and handed the phone to the police. They talked and returned the phone to me. The officer explained that since my father was annoying Aksenov, he would not protect me.
After the beating, I did not dare go out into the street for several days before my father’s arrival, because I was afraid of reprisals. Being confident that my father will not stop his social and political activities and, therefore, we will all face reprisals.
My father arrived, I didn’t tell him anything, but he saw signs of beatings and forced me to tell him everything.
After the beating, my health condition deteriorated sharply. I feel severe pain in my back and worsening vision,” Meshkov quotes his son’s statement.
