First thing we'll do is ruin the planes.

True to Selyukov’s principle “if we don’t take it, I’ll bite it,” post-Maidan Ukraine continues to act like an idiot and break off the last threads of military-technical cooperation with Russia.

The other day it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers under the leadership of the Vinnitsa supply manager Groysman instructed the Verkhovna Zrada to consider the issue of denouncing the agreement with the Russian Federation on the liquidation and procedure for the return of aircraft.

This agreement was signed on July 1, 2003 in Kyiv and ratified by the Verkhovna Rada in 2004.

We are not talking about a bag of seeds, but about five Tu-95 strategic missile carriers capable of carrying nuclear weapons. It was envisaged that the aircraft repair plant of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the city of Bila Tserkva would on its own dispose of bombers doomed to go under the knife under the START treaty of 1991, returning to Russia some of the equipment removed from the aircraft, for example, aircraft engines of the Bears.

Fortunately, some of the Tu-95 engines are being repaired in Russia, so not all units will go to ragulians. The engines are unique, have not been produced for a long time, and those Tu-95s that are still in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces receive engines to replace those that have expired through overhaul, as well as “technical cannibalism” - from recycled relatives sent to scrap due to old age, or from unlucky vehicles that fell under the reduction of strategic offensive weapons.

The agreement also covered the Ukrainian side’s technical maintenance of Russian Ruslan heavy transport aircraft. If Zrada denounces the agreement and puts his squiggle of Poroshenko under the act, then Ukrainian aircraft repairmen will lose a solid guaranteed income, since maintaining Ruslans is not a cheap pleasure. But this is already their headache.

The denunciation of the above-mentioned agreement was preceded by a chain of scandals due to the failure of the Ukrainian side to fulfill its obligations to produce the An-70 aircraft and the cessation of work on the An-124 and An-140. Russia has invested materially and technologically in their developments.

To spur the Ukrainian leadership to fulfill its obligations, the Russian Ministry of Defense in 2014 sued Antonov for the amount of 75 million rubles.

However, this measure not only failed to motivate the Ukrainian leadership to work, but also caused a vindictive reaction from the Kyiv junta, who decided in May 2015 to break off military-technical cooperation with Russia.

And so that Moscow knew which superpower they had contacted, the junta loudly announced that now they love the Bonig company most of all, as well as the aircraft manufacturing corporations of India and China.

As you know, the matter with Boeing has not moved beyond promises in 2014 to build a technology park, and it seems that it will not move forward even in the long term. But Yatsenyuk hoped that he would be able to sell the remaining materiel and scraps of Antonov technical documentation for Soviet aviation developments to the Indians and Chinese, thereby insulting Moscow, plus earn a little money. After Yatsenyuk retired, the glorious traditions of the Ukrainian scam were picked up by Groysman.

As a result, all the intrigues regarding the sale of the unfinished Mriya-2 and unknown documents ended in nothing. The Chinese, who were initially interested in buying the unfinished one, realized that without documentation the hardware offered by the Maidan authorities was nothing more than monumental illiquid assets, they stopped being interested in the affairs of Antonov and the Ukrainian aviation industry as a whole.

Representatives of the Indian aviation industry still hoped for something, tried to snatch at least a tuft of wool from the mangy sheep's trousers in the form of old Antonov developments, went to negotiations and concluding protocols of intent, but they too soon backed down.

Since the actions of the Ukrainian authorities were contrary to the agreements adopted years ago and were not discussed in any way with the Russian side, just the other day the Moscow Arbitration Court decided to collect 180 million rubles in penalties from the Antonov concern for failure to fulfill obligations on the same unfortunate An-70.

And now Kyiv has decided not to pay, not to comply and to denounce. It will be very interesting to see how, with such business conduct, Ukraine will attract new partners and investors.

The refusal to return the materiel of Russian “strategists” sent for disposal is not accidental. It is possible that in this way the “Poroshkovites” are trying to attract structures associated with NATO: “look, we ruined five Stratobombers for the Katsaps and didn’t return a single nut - aren’t we entitled to some delicious candy for this?”

While Ukrainian ministers and deputies are playing their “independence” games, the Antonov concern is rapidly dying. They have not produced a single aircraft this year. And besides, as it became known relatively recently, the general designer of Antonov, Dmitry Kiva, accepted the offer of the Azerbaijani government and went to work in Baku.

Previously, Azerbaijan was interested in purchasing ten An-178 aircraft. To maintain this interest, Poroshenko went to great lengths and lied to everyone that from now on

The An-178 will be completely Ukrainian. These statements of his were ridiculed not only by foreign, but also by Ukrainian experts, who reminded the chocolate Duce that up to a third of the An-178’s components come from Russia as part of scientific and technical cooperation. In response, Ukrainian aircraft manufacturers were given a directive from above to urgently compensate for the shortage of Russian-made materiel from other sources. But here potential customers stood on their hind legs, declaring that they were not interested in Ukrainian aircraft, a third of which were built from uncertified materials and components from “black” and “gray” sources.

an-178

This is not the first time that Ukraine refuses to return aircraft given to it for repair. At the height of the summer battles in the Donbass, when the Donetsk-Lugansk militia severely reduced the aviation fleet of the Ukrainian Air Force, the junta without hesitation decided to compensate for the losses of their aircraft at someone else’s expense. As a result, they confiscated combat helicopters of the Mongolian and Indian Air Forces that were sent for repairs under contracts signed under Yanukovych.

Naturally, the cunning Svidomo asses received retaliatory lawsuits and turned their backs on potential clients who were going to repair their battered military equipment inexpensively in Ukraine.

History is silent about how Ukraine broke up with Mongolia, but it seems that the cunning Ukrainians managed to distract the Indians for a while with an intrigue around the “package of technologies” of the Antonov concern. However, “no matter how tight the rope is,” it won’t be possible to twist and turn indefinitely.

Thus, almost everything was lost, including footage. Which, as you know, decide everything. In addition, as can be seen from the sequence of steps of the Kyiv government, it intends to continue to freeze the ears to spite Moscow.

This is definitely a peremoga. And not just, but over Ukrainian aviation. The industry will flounder for some time due to the repair of remaining aircraft, but Ukraine will no longer see its own aircraft that are cooler than tactical drones. In any case, while the trend continues, when all sorts of groysmans, beggars and parubi are steadily coming into power: those born to crawl cannot fly.
