Peskov denied Lukashenko
Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov did not confirm the words of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko that Russia is ready to compensate its ally for the consequences of its tax maneuver.
“The supplies are carried out not by the Russian state, but by Russian oil companies. To clarify their position regarding the prices at which they want to sell their oil to our Belarusian comrades, [Russian Deputy Prime Minister] Kozak yesterday gathered oil companies and relevant ministers. There they expressed their positions regarding possible prices and discounts. Naturally, there can be no question of someone imposing unfavorable conditions on these companies that would not correspond to both Russian and international price conditions,” Peskov said.
He refused to share the nuances of the presidents' negotiations. According to him, the work continues.
As PolitNavigator reported, Today Lukashenko said that Russia allegedly ready to pay Belarus $300 million as compensation for the tax maneuver.
